Hello, my name is Lajuan, and today I want to share the experience I had with the Rohrer Aesthetics (Q-switched Yag/KTP Tattoo Removal). The dual wavelengths (1064nm/532nm) for removal of a wide variety of tattoo pigments.
Now normally before this procedure either BLT cream or Local Anesthesia will be applied. If you don’t know what BLT Cream is, it’s Benzocaine (20%), Lidocaine (10%), and Tetracaine (10%), which is a numbing agent made in a factory down in Texas. As soon as you apply it, it works almost instantaneously. But patients are asked to wait for at least 45 mins.
I used the Local anesthesia which is 1% Lidocaine (300mg/30ml) which works better than the topical cream. My first time getting tattoo removal I didn’t have high expectations as far as results seeing how it was going to be my first treatment. Oh, how wrong I was! During the process of me getting both my hands zapped I could slightly feel the machine and if I had to describe how it felt, it felt kind of like getting my hands redone which wasn’t that bad honestly. But after an hour went by I noticed my hands were super puffy and I wasn’t able to use them for the rest of the day.
Now the second time I got the Tattoo Removal done we used 2% Lidocaine HCI & Epinephrine (1:200,000). Once injected my whole forearm from my elbow to my fingertips were numb. As we proceeded to do the treatment Lacey (our Nurse Practitioner) asked me how I felt and I told her “I don’t feel anything”. My hands swelled yet again but this time I couldn’t feel half my arms plus at the time it was cold in the office so that made the process a little hard on me but overall it was a good experience. I can proudly say after just two treatments almost all the Black ink is completely gone from my right hand but we have to play catch up on my left hand. My left-hand tattoo will be gone before my right-hand tattoo because my right has color in it and it takes longer to remove, unlike a solid black tattoo.
After getting this procedure done I can proudly say that the only con I had was that my hands were swollen, but swelling is normal. Also the 6-week wait is a bummer too. But other than that I really have no complaints about Tattoo Removal.
